Seaport-e

Seaport-e

NAVSEA Warfare Centers established the Navy Seaport-enhanced (Seaport-e) Multiple Award Contract (MAC) vehicle, which is a web-based, e-business procurements portal to facilitate performance-based service acquisition, leverage buying power, improve business intelligence, and reduce cycle time. Virtual SYSTCOM activities utilize the Seaport-e, as do the Military Sealift Command, Strategic Systems Programs, Office of Naval Research, Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), and the United States Marine Corps. PT&C is pleased to service the Seaport-e program.

In October 2002, Admiral Vern Clark, U.S. Navy introduced "Seapower 21" as the Navy's vision to realize opportunities and navigate the challenges ahead to defend our nation and defeat our enemies. The intent of "Seapower 21" is to organize, integrate, and transform the Navy's efforts to maximize joint combat effectiveness with the available resources. According to Admiral Clark, information gathering and management are critical components of this revolutionary approach, requiring greater control over systems and processes. In an effort to increase efficiency, Seaport-e was developed to secure support and ensure that the objectives of Seaport 21 are met.
