Project Management Services and Cost Engineering

Custom Software Solutions

Our cost engineers are skilled in the use of a variety of estimating tools, including MII and PACES, among others. We regularly transfer cost estimate data from MII to Primavera to produce resource-loaded schedules, and are experts at tailoring MII to meet customer needs, including the use and development of project items, libraries, crews as assemblies, customized WBSs, and cost estimating reports.

PT&C has also been intimately involved in the development of the core cost estimating programs. We have:

  • Worked with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to develop TRACES (Tri-Service Automated Cost Engineering Systems), the suite of cost engineering applications that includes MII, HII, PACES, and RACER.
  • Continued to improve and enhance MII's features and functions to ensure it meets the needs of the TRACES cost engineering community.
  • Provided training and support to cost engineers in the use of MII, including engineers from multiple USACE districts and A-E firms.
  • Developed an MII feature to improve the importation of data from PACES into MII.

Training and Support

PT&C offers MII training sessions using the same basic lesson plan and materials used to train USACE cost engineers. Our program typically consists of 32 hours of instruction over a four-day period, using a combination of lectures, "lead-follow" demonstrations, and hands-on practical exercises. We offer training classes periodically in our Atlanta, Georgia office, or, if you have a minimum of five registered students, we can bring the training class to you.
