Construction Claims Management

PT&C provides third-party independent reviews and analyses of construction claims for owners, contractors, and the legal community. Because our staff understands the relationship between technical and contractual issues, we bring an added dimension to the client's team, often illuminating additional relevant issues.

Our construction claims analysis services include:

Claims Avoidance

The best way to avoid a claim is to engage PT&C's project management team [Link to What We Do Cost Engineering Program and Project Management]] from the project's inception. Our estimators and schedulers work together to anticipate when program milestones will be met, and what monies will be coming in and going out as a result. In addition, we regularly conduct risk and cost analyses to determine the probability that a project or effort will stay within budget. And if for some reason a claim is made, the PT&C team is better prepared to respond to it, having been involved throughout the project's lifecycle.

Cost Analyses

Our experienced cost engineers prepare detailed construction estimates to support damage calculations. They can also perform an economic analysis of cash flow, time-value-of-money and economic comparison of alternatives, and can audit cost-related records for verification and contractual purposes.

Event Reconstruction

Because "what happened" and "when did it happen" are often at the core of construction disputes, accurate event reconstruction is extremely important. PT&C's professionals can establish supportable event timelines based on technical documents, business records, client personnel interviews, photographs, and third-party sources.

Field Services

We provide a wide range of field operations to support our construction claims management services, including site inspections, coordination of laboratory testing, verification of materials and dimensions, site photography and video services, and related support activities.

Litigation Support

In cases involving complicated technical issues, our professionals can simplify highly complex technical facts into easier-to-understand concepts without losing essential elements. These concepts can be communicated via drawings, models, three-dimensional computer graphics, and other demonstrative evidence that can be easily understood by members of a jury.
